'Points' of Interest. Tuapiro Point:
toilets, lots of parking, fishing, boating, ski lane, easy beach and nature walks,
and a great place for the dog

Tuapiro Point is one of the hidden gems of the Bay. It has great views of Bowentown and – through the entrance – Mayor Island. There's a ski lane here, but more often than not it is people exercising dogs or horses that make up the majority of visitors.

Walk left (north) along the beach or through the pines to the point for a very different view of Tanners Point. The channel is close to shore here. It's great place for a swim or a picnic.

To get to Tuapiro Point travel north out of Katikati for five kilometres, turn right onto Tuapiro Road. Stay on this road for about five kilometres and after passing through kiwifruit and avocado orchards and Tuapiro Village you will reach the shoreline. To the right is a large grassed mown area. Turn left to get to toilets, parking and some great walks.
